Programs

Welcome to the impactful programs initiated by the Office of Uganda’s Ambassador for Women and Girls, overseen by the esteemed H.E Suzan Nabuuma, the Ambassador and Mayor’s Young Personality of the Year Awardee 2022.

Child Care & Rescue Programme (CC&RP)

Caretakers of the office, CC&RP is a registered Indigenous Non-Governmental Organization committed to addressing global humanitarian challenges affecting children, young people, and women. Collaborating with the Office of Uganda’s Ambassador for Women and Girls, we focus on two perspective programs:

Health Strategic Program (HSSP)

  • Princess Diana Health Centre III: Established in 2014, this signature project offers Appropriate, Acceptable, Accessible, and Affordable healthcare to impoverished communities. Specialized services for child mothers and women affected by domestic violence are provided free of charge. You can support this community health facility with a very inspiring history by purchasing a medical voucher (sample to be emailed to you). In this way, you will help teenage girl victims of sexual harassment and women victims of gender-based violence access free quality medical services for a period of one year.
  • Princess Diana Teenage Centre: Under the Adolescent Friendly Reproductive Health Services Project (AFREHP), this center supports Uganda’s youthful population, offering free youth-friendly services, including counseling, health education, and family planning.

Integrated Humanitarian Program (ISP)

  • Re-Connecting with Nature Expedition: An experiential climate action reality TV Expedition that addresses the emotional toll on those who give it their all to serve others. It offers Americans facing burnout a 2-week immersive experience with 14 scientifically-crafted expeditions aimed at reversing Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD) and contributing to global concerns like climate change and poverty alleviation. Apply Now.
  • Living in the Face of Trauma (LIFT): An annual Universities Reality TV Expedition challenging students worldwide to create initiatives for refugee women and girls in Uganda. Each year, 20 students from Universities in the United States are paired with their Ugandan counterparts in a challenge to transform book knowledge into innovations that give forced migration a human face and foster peaceful co-existence in host communities. The best team wins a Noble Humanitarian Award for the Dignity of a Refuge.
  • Re-Writing Destiny: A high school reality TV where selected girls from high schools are sent to hard-to-reach communities in a challenge to empower community teenage girls to prevail over sexual harassment, child motherhood, and gender discrimination. Every year, 20 American students from high school and their parents, guardians, or sponsors team up with Girl Child Ambassadors from Uganda to change the lives of the most deserving to win the Star of Africa Humanitarian Award at a glamorous red carpet event.
  • The Bulya Desire Presidential Center for Empowerment of Young Women Leaders in Africa: Each year, 100 young people from marginalized communities in Africa with enormous potential to become Africa’s Next Young Leaders are selected from around the continent for a two-week immersive training in different leadership experiences where they return to their communities and support their counterparts to improve their communities. The list of successful applicants is shared with American Friends of Africa, which selects a candidate of their choice to sponsor. Only successfully sponsored young leaders can participate in the Leadership Training Programme.
  • The Ambassador’s Scholarship Program: The Ambassador’s Scholarship Program for bright but financially constrained girls supports girls who are at risk of child marriage, victims of sexual harassment, and those from families worst hit by gender-based violence and have very little chance of getting an education. Interested Americans select a candidate they wish to sponsor and declare the period of sponsorship. Successful Sponsors win a prestigious badge of Humanity called “I am A Star for Her in Africa.” The badge includes the name of the sponsored student.
